For language teachers, the New Year is a great gift allowing us to look back over the past year and to look forwards to the year ahead. This allows us to work on tense structures that are always in need of attention but which are hard to put into natural and cultural context.

Year in Review – there are many places on the internet where you can find reviews of the year in pictures and in news reports. How you choose to deal with this in class and how far you take your pupils linguistically will depend on your individual context.
